Piggy Smalz lived with a homeless man in Los Angeles when he was just a baby. They stayed near Grand Avenue and 110th Street. The LAPD received numerous calls about a baby pig running down Grand Avenue.
A caring family took him in and provided temporary shelter in their apartment across the street from the 108th police station. However, since pigs can’t be kept in apartment courtyards, they reached out to us. At the time, he was munching on Cheetos, crawfish, saltines, and cookies, thoroughly enjoying every bite!
We picked him up, placed him in the back of our Honda, and drove him to his foster mom. There, he was transitioned to a diet of pig food and a few vegetables, although he stubbornly refused to eat the vegetables then and still does now.
He has been neutered, and his tusks and hooves are trimmed about every six months.
Occasionally, he gets to enjoy some Cheerios or dry dog food as a treat.
