Hi, I'm Penelope Sweet Pickles

In 2014, Los Angeles city employees discovered Penelope Sweet Pickles living in an abandoned warehouse with some homeless squatters. They contacted us, and an LAPD employee went to pick her up and took her straight to a veterinarian.

She has a long scar down her back, which many of you may have seen if you met her at any of our events. Initially, there were concerns that she had been abused, but we quickly realized she did not exhibit behavior typical of an abused dog. We believe she may have gone through a glass window or gotten caught on some wire, as she is extremely afraid of loud noises like thunder and gunshots.

Penelope, another pit bull in need of a home, never had to look for one because she found her forever home with our founder/co-founder, where she still lives today. She has undergone two surgeries for cancer and is doing great! Over the years, she has been a wonderful foster auntie to many dogs and puppies.
